Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan Stabbed, Out of ICU and Recovering
Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is recovering after being stabbed at his Mumbai home. Police are investigating, and the suspect remains at large.

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is reported to be recovering well after being stabbed by an intruder at his Bandra West residence in Mumbai. The incident occurred early Thursday morning when an assailant entered his apartment and attacked him with a knife.
According to doctors at Lilavati Hospital, Khan sustained six stab wounds, including one to the neck. A 2.5-inch blade fragment was surgically removed from his spine during a five-hour operation. Dr. Nitin Narayan Dange, who treated Khan, confirmed that he is now out of the intensive care unit and has been moved to a private room.
“Saif Ali Khan is walking and recovering steadily. We have restricted visitors for the next week to minimize infection risks due to his spinal injury,” Dr. Dange said during a press briefing. The doctor also stated that there is no risk of paralysis from the injuries.
Lilavati Hospital’s Chief Operating Officer, Niraj Uttamani, described Khan’s condition upon arrival. “He walked into the hospital on his own, despite being covered in blood. He demonstrated immense strength,” Uttamani said.
The attack occurred while Khan was at home with his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children, Taimur Ali Khan, 8, and Jehangir Ali Khan, 4. The intruder, armed with a knife and a wooden stick, entered the apartment on the 11th floor of the Satguru Sharan building.
Eliyama Philip, a nurse employed by the family, was the first to encounter the attacker. She reported hearing noises around 2 a.m. and initially mistook the intruder for a family member. When she realized the presence of an unknown man, she attempted to protect Jehangir but was injured in the process.
Philip told police that the assailant demanded Rs 1 crore in ransom. “He threatened us, saying no one should make noise or leave the room,” she stated in her report.
Hearing Philip’s screams, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan rushed to intervene. Khan confronted the attacker but was assaulted with the knife and a wooden object. Despite his injuries, Khan managed to escape with his family to the upper floor of their duplex apartment.
The attacker fled the scene shortly after. Mumbai Police have since launched a manhunt, forming 20 teams to track down the suspect.
Preliminary investigations revealed no signs of forced entry. The intruder reportedly climbed an adjacent wall and accessed the building via a fire escape. CCTV footage captured him leaving the premises, but his identity remains unknown.
The police believe the attacker was familiar with the building’s layout, as he avoided main entrances and security cameras during his entry. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspect. The hospital staff confirmed that Taimur Ali Khan accompanied his father to the hospital and remained by his side during treatment. Residents of the Satguru Sharan building have requested increased surveillance and tighter security measures.
